About

Welcome to the West Seattle Garden Club website!

We meet monthly, September through May, to share our love and knowledge of gardening in the Pacific Northwest. Our meetings are held at Daystar Retirement Village, 2615 SW Barton St., Building #1.

Interesting field trips are scheduled throughout the year, such as visits to plant nurseries, parks, and gardens. Recent tours have included the Bellevue Botanical Garden, Kruckeberg Botanic Garden in Shoreline, and the lavender farms of Sequim.

We participate in an annual plant sale, with proceeds helping fund a horticultural scholarship at South Seattle Community College.

Each monthly meeting includes exhibits of horticultural specimens and floral arrangements, and a morning educational program given by a member. Following the lunch break, there is an hour-long presentation by a guest speaker.

Meetings are usually scheduled for the 4th Friday of the month. (See schedule for specific dates.) We gather at 10:00 a.m. for coffee and treats; the business meeting and morning programs begin at 10:30. We break for lunch at noon, with a delicious dessert provided, and reconvene for our afternoon speaker at 1:00 p.m. The meeting adjourns at 2:00.

Visitors are welcome! We’d love to have you join us!
